Welcome to the "Applying for Disability Insurance" section of our web site! |
|
|
Our goal is to make this a very easy and convenient process for you.
We utilize "Open Architecture" with respect to the disability insurance application process.
This means that you will have your own safe and secure application tracking section in our web site. After you submit your application (or one of our agents submits it on your behalf with your approval) you'll be e-mailed a link to your application tracking section that will allow you to track your application's progress at any time. We make every attempt to update the site daily. Of course, you're always more than welcome to call us directly or e-mail us for updates.
You will see a spreadsheet that lists the tasks that need to be completed and the date of completion. You will also be able to see if anything is holding up the process. Ordinarily, things that will delay the process might include our waiting for income verification documents from you, waiting for the examiner to schedule a convenient time for your physical. By far, the No. 1 reason for delay in the application process is waiting for your medical records from your doctor's office (when required).
If you visit your section of the web site and see that we have been waiting for more than 7 to 10 business days for the records, it would be greatly appreciated if you would consider calling your doctor's office and letting them know to please send the records so you can get your disability insurance.
Once all requirements have been received, we can usually get an underwriting decision within a few days. The challenge, of course, is to collect all of the requirements. Our Open Architecture format allows you to see where we are in the process anytime.
There are several ways that you may apply for disability insurance with us. You may call our toll-free number or send us an e-mail with a good time and phone number for us to call you and we can take your application on the telephone.
An application normally accompanies a quote. You can go to the e-mail with your quote to get your application. You may print your application and fill it out as best you can and fax it to us at (443) 269-0202. If you don't know what to put in any given section, leave it blank and we will call you. If you need an application or have any questions, just call or e-mail us.
Please take a moment to review our underwriting policy.
- Please advise us if you have an application pending elsewhere. We can not underwrite you if you have a pending application for disability insurance elsewhere. We may be able to make an exception if you notify us in writing that you have decided to cancel your pending application and work with us.
- Please be certain to answer all questions as accurately as possible.
- We will need certain financial documentation to prove income and will notify you of what will be required. We can not process your application without it.
