Social Insurance Offset / Substitute Rider: A rider which pays a benefit if the insured is disabled under the terms of the policy and not receiving social insurance benefits. If benefits from social insurance are being received, the rider may not pay any benefit, or it may be reduced on a dollar for dollar basis.
